The next step was to add blueprints to the event path of the widget that would allow the buttons to actually have an effect on the level. in terms of the "reset" I used the "open level" as this would just reload the level instantly which in turn the user is returned to the character spawn point. for the "cheat" as this button is just meant for the use of showing the use of the watch and in future projects can easily be changed, I decided to make the button just play a short audio clip which is easily added by simply using the "play sound" and by dragging and dropping the desired audio clip onto the node in the blueprints.
