07/10/2022 update
The first step I took towards completing the set tasks was to familiarise myself with unreal engine 4 and getting used to the mechanics of the program as I have a very small amount of past experience in terms of producing something in unreal engine 4. I did this by using the built in virtual reality plan that comes with the software.
once I got used to the controls as well as gained a rough idea of how the program works I started to delete assents I don't need currently such as the teleport area, interactive cubes and I also removed the roof and entrance of the prebuilt room. the reason i did this is because I want to use the least amount of assets/actors as this will make it easier to find and resolve any issues or bugs I may encounter during the future as i wont have to search through a large amount of actors/objects in order to find what is causing the problem.
finally I also expended the bounds if the play area to allow me more space to add more elements in the future and give me more space to work.
